Women On The Move®

Sponsored by Texas Executive Women (TEW) and The Houston Chronicle, The Women on the Move® Awards began in 1985 as a forum to honor outstanding women leaders in the Houston-area. The focus of the event is to celebrate the accomplishments of women in their professional and community activities. Since its inception, 210 women have received this honor.

Each year, a ceremony and luncheon is held to honor the recipients of the Women on the Move® Awards. Proceeds benefit the TEW Mentoring Program, Texas Executive Women’s Scholarship Fund at the University of Houston College of Business, and community organizations benefiting women and girls.

The most recognized program run by TEW each year is its successful mentoring program. Mentors from TEW's membership impact hundreds of young women each year.

The organization also funds scholarships at the University of Houston and other educational institutions. Since 1985, nearly $600,000 has been donated to women-focused programs in the Houston area.

Each year, the selection process, headed by CEOs and leaders from the Houston area as judges, culminates in the month of July and The Women on the Move^® Luncheon is usually held in October or November.
