LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Donna Balin

Greetings!

Well it is that time again, the flowers have sprung, the birds are chirping, and the kids are frolicking in the green grass in the backyard. Who am I kidding; you are probably the one frolicking in the back yard!

As usua,l we had an excellent meeting this month. Nancy Levicki, President, Dress for Success Houston, did a marvelous job.

I would like to thank Jeann Howse, VP Programs, for all of her efforts this year putting together such wonderful speakers and programs for our members to enjoy. Jeann, we truly appreciate your hard work! Furthermore, she and Barbara Halstead, Director, Federation of Professional Women, are to be commended for spear-heading our first fundraiser this year. It was a success, but we still would liked to have seen more TEW members attend. I know this is a very busy time of year for everyone, and we will have another fundraiser this fall if you were unable to attend this one.

We are still accepting your requests for contributions to various organizations and charities in the community. Please submit your proposal in writing at your earliest convenience, as the Board will be distributing remaining funds only to local organizations that benefit women and young girls and have a similar mission. You may send your requests to Margo Snider or me, via email.

I hope to see you all at the next meeting. Your attendance and participation in TEW is vital and will only make our organization a success. We welcome back all guests that attended, and hope that you will inquire further into becoming a member.

Remember…take time to smell the flowers and be part of something big!
Get involved with Texas Executive Women!

Enjoy the summer!

As I look back over the 2003-2004 program year for Ladies of Excellence and Ladies of Distinction, I know the efforts of all the TEW members, campus mentors, speakers and career hosts involved with these two mentoring programs were well received and produced very positive results. Full story...

NEWS AMONG FRIENDS

  • Beth Ann Scher is at it again...or still
Some people go to the annual Art Car Parade and merely watch the crazy wheeled creations roll by. Not Beth Ann; she participates. Read all about it in this link to the article The Houston Chronicle.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CHARITY?

Again this year, the Board of Directors will be dispersing funds from the 2003 Women on the Move®. In addition to funding the TEW mentoring programs, we will be providing grants to community agencies/organizations with programs that benefit women and girls.

What better way to celebrate the accomplishments of the ten outstanding women that we honor, than to give back to programs that benefit those women and girls in need? To date, TEW has donated over $600,000 to charitable entities.    Full story...
