LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Beverly Kaufman

June President's Message:

It's that pivotal time of year when school ends, marriages begin and summer is upon us.

And before you turn around again, it'll be holiday season. So don't waste time -- take a spin by our June 12th meeting to break bread with your sister TEW members, enjoy the program and start making plans for the Summer Social aboard the Port of Houston's Sam Houston on July 10th. You'll be as happy as a yardman after a rainy Houston Spring!

In a short time, interviews for Women On The Move® nominees will begin. We have an outstanding crop of candidates for WOM 2007.

And hearty compliments to our Mentoring Program officers and the Scholarship Committee for ringing out the school year with an impressive group of students on their way to college. The year-end banquets were awesome and truly inspiring.

Please remember, our success in TEW depends on you and your participation through active membership. We want to see you at the meetings and we need your support for our scholarship fund and the events created to fund our programs. Please help us promote the sale of corporate tables for the WOM Luncheon.

So, if you haven't been around for awhile, consider your self missed. We all look forward to seeing you!

Beverly Kaufman

President

NEWS AMONG FRIENDS

We are always looking for TEW Member news. Tell us what you're doing, what your company is doing or what other TEW members are doing. This is the place to toot your own horn. Your response is always welcome. Just send any information or news about yourself or any other member to Mamie Moy at mmoy@mail.uh.edu.

WOMEN ON THE MOVE®

Remember to mark your calendar for October 19, 2007 for the WOMEN ON THE MOVE® luncheon .

The success of the event starts with excellent nominations and we had many of them this year.

There will be a raffle at the luncheon. We'd love to have something from your company or perhaps some of your contacts that might have a super addition to the raffle.

We look forward to another successful luncheon this year.

TEW MENTORING PROGRAM

Mentoring

Westbury Mentoring maven Carolyn Wyly shows why that program is such a success, along with a fashion moment featuring Sheridan Scott. Get the details and photos here.

The final school bell has run for this year and the Mentoring Committees are already at it again, putting together the programs for next year.

Now would be a great time for you to contact the chairpersons and see how you can use your knowledge and experience and contacts to add to the upcoming year's programs.

Learn more about the programs from the 2006 Mentoring Video. You will gain a true perspective of what the program is about and how it has affected the lives of so many young women.

Thank you for your responses to the monthly meetings. The emailings have kept us from cutting down more trees and lessened the burden on the United States Postal Service. I hope you agree with me.

Whether using USPS or email I am always concerned with the delivery of the TEW announcements. If you do not receive the announcements, please let me know. If you send an email to me the possibility and/or probability of my recording it incorrectly will be greatly minimized. If you prefer a paper copy I will be pleased to send it.

I look forward to seeing you at future meetings.
